Epping, NH…… The gates opened and the Buicks came rolling in! The most Buicks at one event in this area since 1998!
Razorback Racing’s Buick Shootout….an “all Buick Event- Buick car or Buick powered only” delivered a $2,000. purse with a 33-car field, trophies, gift certificates, tee-shirts, key chains, give-away prizes and a fabulous continual cookout by Chef Guy Toti for all the entrants!
The weather was perfect for the event, New England Drag way did a fabulous job and our diehard Buick enthusiasts raced the entire day, basically non-stop, closing the track with the last race at 4:59 pm.
“The camaraderie of the racers, networking, helping other racers with problems and just plain good old racing fun was evident the whole day, stated Jerry Lowell, this is what we wanted to accomplish.”
Congratulations to Paul Massicotte on his “very first win” and what a win it was with a $1,000.00 prize; trophy; a $200.00 TSR Racing Products Gift Certificate and an Action Photo Gift Certificate!

Who would have thought that at the end of the day a 4-Speed 1970 Buick Skylark would ultimately be the winner of the event! Paul ran 12.17 @115 mph in the final.
“I guess it’s better to be lucky than good”, says Paul, I’ll be back to defend my title in the fall!”
Runner-Up – Patrick Guida of West Boylston, MA…. took away $500.00 in prize money; trophy; a $100.00 TSR Racing Products Gift Certificate and an Action Photo Certificate with his 64 Buick Skylark to complete his day!

Semi-Finalists – Bob Christo and Dennis Lyons each took away $125.00; Action Photo Certificate; plus a TSR Racing Products $50.00 Gift Certificate.

Lowell's Car Catches Fire!
Mon, Aug 18 2008 05:36

After spending the winter months upgrading his 1987 Buick Grand National, it only took four (4) test passes at New England Dragway for Razorback Racing’s Jerry Lowell to see all the work go up in smoke. Luckily Jerry was able to get out of the car in time and not get burned.
The car however, received extensive damage to the passenger side of the car. The car had extensive damage to the transmission, torque converter, windshield, wiring, etc.
Fire was caused by a transmission fluid fire.
As all racers know, you go back to the drawing board and start again. Car is in the shop being rebuilt.
Jerry’s looking forward to a fast return!
